Reflections on an Interesting Year

When I reflect on the year that is now coming to a close the phrase that arises to describe it is “quiet changes”. This is certainly true for me, obviously true for my partner, Ayala, and a consistent description given by most of the online group participants. The phrase “profound changes” could also be used because the quiet changes have also been very significant. In my own case, and by my observation of many others, these changes have put in place a foundation and opened up new possibilities for a significantly different kind of future. You American baseball fans may recall one of New York Yankees catcher, Yogi Berra’s more famous pronouncement… “The future isn’t what it used to be.” and I think that applies here. Our efforts and struggles over the last year have literally created a new future.

That naturally raises the question of what will we do with this new future. But we’ll leave that for another time.
