Objective Reason, Conscience, and transforming automatic being reason
A presentation and discussion on February 22nd, 2015 facilitated by John Hutcherson
“Why should these subjects interest us?”, you might ask. Beelzebub provides one answer on page 125 in the chapter, “The Relative Understanding of Time”, where he says,
“Exactly like the beings of other cosmoses, they are born, they grow up, they unite and separate for what are called ‘sex-results’ and they also fall sick and suffer, and ultimately like everything existing in which Objective Reason has not become fixed, they are destroyed forever.
The prospect of being “destroyed forever” should provide a shock to wake us up, but fear for our personal existence is hardly a good reason for this line of enquiry. A more corresponding impetus is found on page 815 in the chapter, “The Law of Heptaparaparshinokh”, where Beelzebub says the following,
“…you must first of all know that, in spite of the fact that from the time when all the consequences of the properties of the organ Kundabuffer began to be crystallized in them and it became proper to them to have automatic-Reason during their responsible existence, yet, nevertheless, always and up to the present time, at the arising and the beginning of the formation of each one of them, there is always in their presence the germs of all possibilities for the crystallization, during their completing formation into responsible beings, of corresponding being-data, which later during responsible existence could serve for the engendering and functioning of Objective-Reason, which should be in the common presences of three-brained beings of all natures and of all external forms, and which, in itself, is nothing else but, so to say, the ‘representative-of-the-Very-Essence-of-Divinity.’
The last phrase connects Objective Reason to Conscience, and it provides a significant clue about how to transform our ordinary automatic being reason into the faculty of Objective Reason. The relationships are illustrated below…
It’s clear that the automatic being reason of nearly everyone on the planet, from world leaders to ordinary people, is degenerating right before our eyes. Even the reasoning of individuals with the best of intentions often goes wide of the mark, and we’re probably no exception.
So is it possible in an hour to clearly see this and more importantly to see what needs to be done to develop our capacity for reasoning? Given that we use our reasoning (such as it is) hundreds of times a day in situations large and small, it’s well worth our time and effort to at least make a start.
